Welcome! I’m so glad you’re here.
I’m Ashley Kester, owner and founder of Hometown Lactation. I have been a registered nurse since 2005 and hold a Master’s degree in Nursing Administration. I obtained my International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) in 2020 and have extensive experience as a long time La Leche Leader and Lactation Counselor (CLC).
I became a nurse because my passion has always been to help others. Advocating for patients and forming such an important bond with those I cared for was something that fed my soul. I transferred that love of helping others and advocating for families when I realized there is such a lack of support for those who desire to breast/chest feed.
My own breastfeeding journeys were a big driving force toward becoming an IBCLC. Infants are hard in general but adding in feeding difficulties is a major hurdle for families. I know those hopeless and scared feelings. My goal is always to support you first, however you need. The feeding parent is such an important piece to the entire dynamic. Breast/chestfeeding goes beyond just getting calories into your baby.
